ENSENADA, BAJA CALIFORNIA AND SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA
Be part of the first Binational King Tides Event, happening simultaneosly at Kendall-Frost Marsh (USA) and Estero de Punta Banda (México)! Communities on both sides of the border are invited to document extreme high tides by taking photos and recording conditions throughout the day.
Here’s what’s happening!
Welcome with coffee and snacks: We’ll all gather to chat at 7:40 am
Learn how to document the king tide. Those interested will learn how to use Survey123/download app to help with documenting the extreme high tide, and be provided with guidelines for taking and submitting photos. This will take place from 7:30 to 8:00 am.
Document the king tide. This will take place from 8:00 am to 8:45 am. It will involve walking and taking photos. King tide is at 8:22 am.
Bird walk. This will be led by Pro Esteros and Mujeres en Parvada starting at 8:45 am
Watercolor Painting of the surrounding landscapes: This will happen from 7:30 to 9:00 am. Children are encouraged to join this event but adults are also welcome.
